Interview with Martin

I prefer to nurture and tease out responses from the learners because it is so much more powerful to see them have the “Aha!” moment!
Engagement comes in the form of everyone in the room sharing what they know. The energy in the room is highest when people start bringing their experience and real-world challenges to be discussed.
As a former lecturer, knowing how to work the room is important and making sure everyone feels comfortable sharing and discussing in a space where there is no such thing as a bad idea!
The beauty of virtual trainings is having the ability to have learners from various parts of the world come together and embark on rich cross-border discussions.
Personally, I love in-person trainings because we can simply walk up to a learner and talk to them about their challenges from work or even see their examples of bad charts!
It’s hard to pick a favorite because as a trainer, it’s not just about the content but more of the learners response to that content. If I had to pick one, it would be Data Storytelling for Business because I get the most “Aha!” reactions from learners in this course.
Family, cars, and home entertainment (in that order).
