Interview with Wei Yiing

Approachable, practical, and collaborative. I like to create a space where learners feel comfortable asking questions and testing ideas, while also anchoring discussion in real-world applications.
I use relatable examples, interactive exercises, and lots of humour. I also try to draw out insights from participants' own experiences to make the sessions feel relevant and grounded. All these, I believe, help bring data storytelling concepts to life. And concepts brought to life are more memorable and easier to apply in everyday practice, right?
I use relatable examples, interactive exercises, and lots of humour. I also try to draw out insights from participants' own experiences to make the sessions feel relevant and grounded.
Virtual training makes learning accessible across borders and time zones. Tools like chat, polls, and annotations actually allow more voices to be heard, especially from quieter participants.
In-person allows for deeper connections and sharper focus. I can pick up on subtle cues and tailor the session on the fly. There's also something energizing about being in the same room solving problems together.
Data Storytelling for Business. I love that it blends the science of data with the art of storytelling. From experience, knowing this can save you a lot of time (and from all sorts of professional heartbreaks). So, I am happy to be able to share with learners a framework for knowing their ‘why’.
I enjoy spending time in the kitchen, either dialing in my espresso or testing out a new recipe.
