Interview with Dom

I see my role as facilitating a discussion where everyone in the room is collaborating to solve a problem. I love to get people talking. The more I learn about the specific data visualization challenges that people face, the better I can help them learn by making immediate improvements to their current work.
I like to relate each learning outcome to an interesting practical use case or to encourage learners to share their own stories and use cases. I find that relevance drives engagement.
I love that we can all interact seamlessly by screen sharing and drawing on each other’s screens. That’s not easy to do face-to-face in a large room. People are also growing more comfortable with virtual communication and with leaving cameras on, which is brilliant.
I’m a chronic YouTube junkie, and have just started creating and sharing my own videos. I also recently got into golf, and while I’m having fun, I won’t be quitting my day job any time soon!
